Apointoo
Cookies policy

What loads in your browser and why.

The Apointoo marketing site at www.apointoo.com does not set its own cookies. The attribution memory we use to identify where each visitor came from sits in browser sessionStorage and clears when you close the tab. Cookies that appear in your session come from analytics and advertising scripts that load with consent.

01 What Apointoo does NOT set

The domain www.apointoo.com does not emit its own Set-Cookie header. No identification, session, preference, or tracking cookie is created by our code in your browser.

The operational dashboard at dash.apointoo.com is a separate application, with its own cookies policy, available only to customers with access granted.

02 What sits in sessionStorage

When you arrive with campaign parameters in the URL, your browser stores the following keys in sessionStorage (not cookies):

  • ap_first_touch — first source of the session (UTMs and click IDs from the first pageview).
  • ap_last_touch — last source of the session, updated on each new pageview that carries campaign parameters.

sessionStorage is local to your browser, does not follow redirects to other domains, and is cleared when you close the tab. The content only leaves your device if you submit the access-request form, at which point it travels as context to the operational dashboard.

03 What Google Tag Manager loads

We load Google Tag Manager (GTM) to manage analytics and measurement tags. GTM may in turn fire:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4)_ga and _ga_* cookies to distinguish visitors. Typical lifespan: 13 months. Purpose: aggregate usage statistics.
  • Google Ads_gcl_au, _gcl_aw, and _gcl_dc cookies to attribute clicks to campaigns and enable enhanced conversions. Typical lifespan: 90 days.
  • The GTM container itself — no proprietary cookie; only loads the container that orchestrates the tags above.

These cookies are owned by Google and governed by the Google Privacy Policy. Apointoo has no direct control over them.

The site does not currently display a cookie consent banner. A banner compliant with ePrivacy / GDPR / UK GDPR is planned and will be added in a future update.

Until the banner is available, you can block analytics and advertising cookies via your browser settings, via a blocking extension (for example uBlock Origin), or via your Google controls at myaccount.google.com.

05 How to control

You can control what loads in your browser in three ways:

  • Browser settings: block third-party cookies, clear history, use private mode.
  • Privacy extensions: uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger, NoScript.
  • Google controls: manage ad personalization and opt-outs at adssettings.google.com.

Blocking GTM-loaded cookies prevents your visit from being counted in our analytics. It does not prevent you from using the site or submitting the form.

06 Changes to this policy

This policy is updated when we add or remove scripts, when a consent banner goes live, and when data-protection authorities issue relevant guidance. The last-updated date appears at the top.
